HIBRID AD

HIBRID A.D. Beograd was founded more than 50 years ago under name Association for improvement of the production of maize and other agricultural crops in the whole former Yugoslavia. In 1953 when the first group of specialists came back from the United States where they had been on several month's advanced training, the Government, Ministry of Agriculture and Chamber of Commerce founded the Association in which all scientific institutions dealing with breeding of field and other agricultural crops, the greatest agri- cultutal estates and all agricultural professional services were included.

At the beginning the Association was engaged in import and distribution of american maize hybrid seed and education of the producers with the purpose to realize the advantages of hybrid seed sowing. Simultaneously the work on creation of domestic selection was carried out and as result domestic maize hybrids were breeded and they replaced american nes.Gradually the Associaation has been transformed into HIBRID company dealing exclusively with organization of production, processing and selling of ZP maize hybrid seed.

Thanks to the acquired experience in maize hybrid seed production, favourable climatic and soil conditions and quality of ZP maize hybrids the export of seed to the foreign markets has started and has been increased every year.In that period HIBRID started to organize the seed production for some foreign seed companies under official control of domestic
scientific institutes and experts of specialized services.In the process of transition and privatization HIBRID has been transformed into joint-stock
Company.

Today, HIBRID possesses the port Bogojevo on Danube river with silo of about 30.000 tons capacity and two-cold stores of 1.050 t and 1.000 tons capacity that are mainly used for raspberries, blackberries and plums. Thanks to many years continuous work with seed, we are in directcontacts with all important subjects in production, processing and selling of seed in Serbia as well as the buyers in many countries.

It is important to mention that HIBRID A.D. is the only seed trading company from Serbia that is the assocciated member of ISF - International Seed Federation (formerly FIS) SEED PRODUCTION AND TRADE
